Sand Filter Installation Guide
1.Preparation
· Verify the sand filter model matches the pool’s flow rate.
· Tools needed: Wrench, PVC glue, Teflon tape, level, silica sand (0.4-0.8mm).
· Choose a well-ventilated, drainable location with a flat and load-bearing surface.
2.Base Installation
· Place the filter vertically on a flat surface; use a level to ensure no tilt.
· Secure the base with anchor bolts if required (optional, depends on site).
3.Pipe Connections
· Inlet (IN): Connect to the outlet pipe of the pool circulation pump.
· Outlet (OUT): Connect to the pool return jet or heater inlet.
· Apply Teflon tape/sealant to joints, tighten flange bolts to prevent leaks.
4.Loading Filter Sand
· Open the top cover, fill with water to 1/3 height (pre-rinse).
· Slowly pour silica sand up to the marked fill line (typically 2/3 of tank volume).
· Ensure even distribution to avoid blocking the central pipe.
5.Valve & Controller Setup
· Attach the multiport valve (if included) to the top port, aligning flow direction arrows.
· Connect the controller’s power supply with proper grounding, set modes
  (filter/backwash/waste).
6.Testing
· Close the lid, start the pump to purge air from pipes.
· Monitor pressure gauge; normal range: 0.8-1.5 bar (model-dependent).
· Check for leaks, run for 10 minutes, then retighten bolts if needed.
7.Completion & Maintenance
· Perform a 2-3 minute backwash after initial use to flush debris.
· Regularly check pressure; backwash if exceeding 1.5 bar.
· Replace silica sand every 2-3 years.
